This treatment is a skin strengthener. Smooth PDO threads bring back the lost blood flow resulting in collagen stimulation to improve skin texture, eliminate fine lines, and improve elasticity.
Often used in areas of skin with fine lines or crepey texture: around the eye area, the upper lip, the hollows of the cheeks, under the chin or around the mouth. Smooth PDO threads can be placed under the skin where you are looking for tightening or smoothing.
To minimize the chance of bleeding or bruising at the injection site, please avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements for one week prior to your treatment. This includes aspirin and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) such as ibuprofen, Motrin, and Aleve and wells as high doses of vitamin-E and Omega-3 fish oil. If you take aspirin or other blood thinners on your doctor's advice or orders, do not stop taking your medication.
Please notify us in advance if you are taking Coumadin, Plavix, or any other blood thinner for a medical condition.
To minimize bruising alcohol consumption should be avoided for 48 hours prior to treatment.
To minimize bruising, refrain from taking blood-thinning medications and supplements (see above) for several days after treatment.
Tylenol (acetaminophen) may be used for pain-relief, if necessary.
Bruising and swelling is normal and expected – use of Alastin Post-Injection serum is recommended to reduce possible bruising and swelling.
Pain at the injection site(s) is normal – this may last several days or even one week after treatment. You may occasionally also feel stinging sensation as the solid filler threads settle in, this is normal.
